1. Scope
This disclaimer applies to all content on the PepStack website (www.pepstack.net), including but not limited to: the Peptide Wiki, the Hormone Wiki, the Blood Marker Database, the Peptide Price Comparison, the Reconstitution and Serum Level tools, and the PepStack app (iOS/Android). The terms "website", "platform", and "service" collectively refer to all of these offerings.
2. Not a Medical Device — No Medical Advice
PepStack is a purely informational, documentation, and research tool. All content — including substance descriptions, mechanisms of action, study summaries, blood marker reference ranges, dosage information, half-lives, and calculation results — does not constitute medical diagnosis, advice, treatment recommendations, or encouragement to self-medicate.
PepStack is not a medical device under EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR) and is not subject to any medical device approval requirements. The content does not replace consultation with a licensed physician, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.
3. Research Content — Peptide Wiki, Hormone Wiki, Blood Marker Database
The information presented in the wiki sections (Peptides, Hormones, Blood Markers) is based on publicly available scientific literature, primarily from PubMed, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and ClinicalTrials.gov. PepStack makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or scientific validity of this content.
- Study data: Titles, authors, journals, citation counts, evidence-level classifications, and DOI links are automatically aggregated from public databases. Errors in attribution, outdated citation counts, or incorrect metadata cannot be ruled out.
- AI-generated summaries: Some content (e.g., AI Summaries, Mechanism Summaries, Research Gaps, Key Findings) is generated or processed by large language models (LLMs). These summaries may contain factual errors, oversimplifications, or hallucinations and do not replace reading the original publications. Users are advised to critically evaluate all AI-generated content.
- Clinical trial data: Information about clinical trials (phase, status, sponsor, enrollment) is sourced from public registries (ClinicalTrials.gov). Trial status may change at any time. PepStack does not guarantee the timeliness of this data.
- Blood marker reference ranges: The reference and optimal ranges provided are for general orientation only. Lab values must be interpreted individually and depend on age, sex, testing method, and laboratory. The displayed values do not replace professional medical interpretation.
- Influence Scores & Trending: Metrics such as Semantic Influence Score and Trending Score are algorithmically calculated indicators and do not represent a scientific assessment of study quality.
4. Peptide Price Comparison
The price comparison displays pricing data collected through automated scraping of third-party websites. PepStack makes no warranty as to the accuracy, timeliness, or availability of displayed prices. Prices may change at any time without notice.
- PepStack does not sell, distribute, or ship any products. All listed products are offered by independent third-party vendors.
- PepStack does not verify the purity, quality, authenticity, or legality of products offered by third-party vendors. Any purchase is made at the user's own risk and responsibility.
- PepStack may earn affiliate commissions through vendor links. This does not influence the display or sorting of prices.
- Vendor scores and ratings are algorithmically generated and do not constitute a recommendation or guarantee of a vendor's legitimacy.
5. User Responsibility and Legal Classification of Substances
Use of the website and app is entirely at the user's own risk and responsibility. Many of the listed substances (peptides, hormones, research chemicals) are:
- partially or fully unapproved for human use in Germany and subject to the Medicinal Products Act (AMG), the Narcotics Act (BtMG), or the Anti-Doping Act (AntiDopG),
- potentially subject to authorization, prescription requirements, or prohibition in other jurisdictions (e.g., FDA-regulated in the US, TGA in Australia, MHRA in the UK),
- listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
PepStack explicitly does not encourage the use of any substance on humans. The presentation of information about these substances serves solely for scientific documentation and research purposes. Users are obligated to independently inform themselves about the applicable legal situation in their country.
6. Exclusion of Liability for Calculations and Tools
The calculation algorithms (Reconstitution Calculator, Serum Level Visualizer) have been developed with the greatest care. However, the operator assumes no warranty for the accuracy, completeness, or precision of results. Software bugs, incorrect user input, or outdated pharmacokinetic data may lead to erroneous results. Users are obligated to verify any calculation through a second, independent source before any potential application. Liability for damages resulting from the use of tools is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
7. AI-Assisted Value Recognition (Lab Report Scan)
Premium users can photograph or upload lab reports as PDF in order to import the contained values into their own panel automatically. The feature uses an externally operated language model with vision capabilities (OpenAI GPT-4o) to transcribe the values visible in the report. It does not constitute medical evaluation, report interpretation, or diagnosis.
- Pure transcription, no medical assessment. The AI extracts only the marker name, value, unit, and reference range, insofar as they are legible in the report. No plausibility check, clinical contextualization, or therapy recommendation is performed.
- User obligation to verify manually. Each extracted value is shown in a review screen before saving. The user is required to compare every value against the original report before it is accepted into the panel. The final decision to accept rests with the user.
- No treatment decisions. No medical or therapeutic decisions may be made on the basis of the extracted values. In case of health concerns or unclear values, a licensed physician must be consulted.
- Third-party processing. For recognition, the image or rasterized PDF pages are transmitted to OpenAI (USA). Details on data processing, retention, and legal basis are described in the Privacy Policy (section "Lab Report Scan").
- Usage limits. Per Premium account, up to 30 successful scans per calendar month and 5 scans per 60 seconds (burst limit) are available. The operator may adjust these limits at any time without notice in order to safeguard the service.
- No availability guarantee. Value recognition depends on the availability and functioning of the AI service provider. Outages, API changes, or restrictions imposed by the provider may lead to temporary unavailability. There is no entitlement to availability.
- EU AI Act transparency. The feature uses an AI system within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act). It is a limited-risk system: the AI performs pure text recognition on a report supplied by the user, makes no diagnosis, and reaches no decision with legal effect. Prior to the first scan, the user is expressly informed about the use of AI.
Liability. The operator is not liable for damages arising from incorrectly transcribed or misinterpreted values insofar as the user has failed to perform manual verification in accordance with the points above, or has made medical decisions without consulting a physician. Liability for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health, as well as for other damages based on intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by the operator or its agents, remains unaffected (§ 309 No. 7 of the German Civil Code, BGB).
8. Risks of Substances
The operator assumes no liability for health damages, side effects, drug interactions, or legal consequences (e.g., violations of anti-doping laws, pharmaceutical regulations, or narcotics laws) arising from the handling of substances documented on this platform. By using the platform, the user confirms that they have independently informed themselves about the legal situation in their country and the associated health risks.
9. Privacy, Backups, and Data Security
The PepStack app uses an offline-first approach with local storage. The user is solely responsible for the security of locally stored data and for safeguarding the access key for encrypted cloud backups. In the event of key or device loss, data cannot be recovered. The operator is not liable for data loss. For further details, see our Privacy Policy.
10. External Links and Third Parties
The platform contains links to external websites, shops, scientific databases (PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, ChEMBL, PubChem), and third-party providers. PepStack assumes no liability for the products, content, purity, legality, or quality offered there. Linking does not constitute endorsement or approval. Purchases from third-party vendors are made at the user's own risk.
11. Copyright and Data Sources
Study summaries, abstracts, and metadata are aggregated from publicly available sources (PubMed/MEDLINE, bioRxiv, medRxiv, ClinicalTrials.gov, ChEMBL, PubChem) under fair use or the respective terms of service. PepStack does not claim copyright over original works. Structure images are sourced from PubChem (National Library of Medicine) and are in the public domain.
12. No Guarantee of Availability
The operator provides no guarantee of uninterrupted availability of the website, app, or individual features. Maintenance, updates, or technical issues may lead to temporary restrictions at any time. The operator reserves the right to modify, supplement, or remove content at any time without notice.
13. Limitation of Liability
The operator's liability for damages of any kind arising from the use or non-use of information presented on the platform is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. This applies in particular to direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or health damages. This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the operator.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply. The place of jurisdiction is, to the extent legally permissible, the operator's place of business.
15. Severability Clause
Should any provision of this disclaimer be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. Invalid provisions shall be replaced by those that most closely approximate the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
